The program presently is designed to be completed in four to five years, plus a 1-year internship. Our intent is that students develop a sufficient base of research training and publications to compete successfully in the job market after the Ph.D. is awarded.
Sixty-four approved graduate credits are required, plus the dissertation. All students in the Adult Clinical area are required to complete core courses covering basic fields of psychology: Psychobiology, Psychopathology, Social Psychology, and Developmental Psychology. All students also complete three courses in research design and statistical analysis. Adult Division students take courses in adult psychopathology; adult psychological assessment; and psychological intervention.
